With Summer coming, it’s time for a Disney Trip!!

What’s more fun than Disney World for a family summer vacation?!  On a recent trip to Orlando to report on the Pillsbury Bake-Off, I had the pleasure of meeting the Disney chefs and tasted some of their marvelous offerings.  There is literally a world of food to be found at the magic of Disney.  At the California Grill in the Contemporary Resort, you will find an open kitchen which invites guest interaction with the chefs as they prepare fresh seafood, meats, and California-style pizza.  At the Polynesian, food is prepared over an open-pit fire with meats roasted on long skewers.  Victoria and Albert’s is a must for those with a taste for fine dining.  This premier restaurant, housed in the Grand Floridian Resort and Spa, is central Florida’s only five-diamond restaurant, awarded by AAA.  For family fun, try the “Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue” at Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground.  The all-you-can-eat dinner includes country favorites such as barbecued ribs, fried chicken, corn-on-the-cob, and strawberry shortcake.  I could list pages of incredible dining at Disney World, but be assured there is something for everyone!  There are more than 475 places to dine, and more than 6,000 different food items available.
You can make some of these delectable offerings in your own home.  In the Delicious Disney cookbook, you will find more than eighty never-before-published recipes, along with everyone’s classics including the Monte Cristo sandwich that has been on the Disney menu since the 1960’s.  The cookbook is filled with international dishes, food for kids, fresh and healthful, fast and casual, and desserts and spirits.  If you have a sweet tooth, then you will love the Delicious Disney Desserts.  This specialty cookbook contains eighteen of the most indulgent desserts including a decadent brownie cheesecake, a rich bourbon pecan pie, honey poached pears, maple creme brulee, and Mickey Mouse beignets.  Both cookbooks are beautiful, with lovely photographs of the recipes.  If you want to re-create a past Disney experience, or just try something new for your family, you can’t go wrong with these cookbooks.  And if you don’t feel like cooking some night, then just look at the picture below and arrange your hanging pots to look like Mickey’s ears- and smile!  It’s not called the Magic Kingdom for nothing.
