Sometimes the best ideas for New Year’s beverages come from the companies themselves. I have a pile of these booklets collected over the years. They are either attached to the bottles or there is an address to write and request a free recipe booklet. You will find such great recipes as a flaming rum punch, classic eggnog, Mai-Tai’s, Champagne punch, Black Russian, and daiquiris of every flavor. A bonus is that the recipes are not just for drinks. The rum booklet has an outstanding recipe for a festive rum-soaked cake. Other booklets include recipes for chicken breasts flambe using peach brandy, Amaretto cheesecake, cheese fondue with white wine, or a hearty beef stew. But if you want some excellent drinks to serve your guests, use the tried-and-true recipes from the company booklets. Remember to drink responsibly, and have a safe and happy new year!

Why I Started This Blog
I love cookbooks. I mean I really love them. I love to read them, treasure them, learn from them, and, of course, cook from them. To me, cookbooks take on a life all of their own. They are history, family, and memories. I have been collecting cookbooks and writing down treasured recipes of family, friends, and neighbors since about age twelve, which means I now own thousands of cookbooks, recipes, and clippings. Now I want to share them with you along with the many other culinary treasures of my cellar." - Debbie Vanni
