Culinary Cellar Homecoming

First and foremost, I can’t say enough how much I appreciated hearing from so many of you over the past three months with emails, cards, gifts, and flowers.  The comforting support and prayers from my family, friends, and readers is what gave me the strength to heal both physically and mentally.

So very briefly, here is what happened.  In my last written blog in February, I mentioned that I would be absent for about two weeks.  What was supposed to be two laparoscopic hernia repairs developed into a three-month situation of unexpected complications, but I am finally feeling well enough to start writing blogs again.  I also need to thank the incredible nurses at the hospital and my visiting nurse, and my nurses at home who are my husband Bill, and daughter Kristina who came here to help.  Daughter Kara called daily with FaceTime visits so I could see her and my two precious granddaughters.  It lifted my spirits so much.

I am looking forward to writing blogs again and hearing from everyone!  All of your past emails and comments will finally be answered soon!  It feels more than good to be back.

Can’t tell you how happy I am to see you posting again! A very good sign. Sorry for all your trials but delighted you are back and better. Answered orayers!

Answered prayers for sure, Janice. My wound care nurse who comes in three times a week said I healed much faster than expected with my kind of large wound and other complications along the way. I’m feeling like a new person!

I was JUST thinking about you this morning and planned to check to see if there was anything new! This is THE BEST news! So happy that you’re recovered and feeling well enough to return to the cellar. Can’t wait to see what wonderful ideas you find down there!

What a GREAT feeling this morning when I opened by emails and saw there was one from YOU! Hugs and blessings, you have been in my prayers also. I’m sure you have an army of friends that have sent prayers for your recovery. I’m also happy that Bill is recovering. Sometimes dear friend it seems like when it rains…..but a rainbow is always coming.

Elaine, I think that rainbow is coming! Thank you for your always wise and comforting words, and of course, for all your fabulous cookbooks. You helped to transform The Culinary Cellar, for which I am forever grateful.
