Bake Off 46 Las Vegas Doughboy and oven mitt

The Pillsbury Bake-Off and Las Vegas have something in common – the chance to have fun and win a million dollars.  The 46th contest will take place in Las Vegas at the Aria Hotel from November 9-12th where 100 cooks from across the country will have a chance to compete for fame and fortune, with one person walking away a millionaire.

I’ll have the complete story on the contest in a week or so with all the exciting details.  If you are a great non-professional cook, think about entering the Bake-Off yourself in 2014.   The information will be available sometime in January.  Here is the link to check out what will be coming up.  In the meantime, think of an original recipe, and dream of what you would do with a cool $1 million.  The next winner could be you!

Hi Ellen- That is actually a tough question! For some reason, I have heard from many people on how hard it has been to find the books from the last few Bake-Off contests. I don’t know if less are being printed, less stores carry them, or what? It used to be very easy to find them at the check-out stands for at least a month after the contest. I have heard from some people the only place they found them was Wal-Mart. I found mine at Target and one grocery store. The last few times, if I didn’t grab them in a week they were gone. One contest, a friend of mine in Iowa happened to find them and she had to buy them for me. I looked on Amazon, too, after reading your comment and couldn’t find any either. I also went to the Pillsbury website and nothing. All I can suggest is, keep checking on Amazon, used book stores, church rummage sales, Goodwill, Salvation Army, library sales, or even go to cookbook-related Facebook pages and see if someone has extras they might be willing to sell. Good luck!
