Next time you open a cold can of beer, how about making something with it instead of drinking it? Try these great beer croutons to use as a snack food or to serve on beer-cheese soup!
BEER CROUTONS
1 loaf day-old bread
12 ounce can cold beer
1/2 to 3/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Remove and discard crust from bread; cut bread into half-inch cubes. Dip cubes of bread into cold beer, then roll in grated cheese. Place on a buttered baking sheet and bake in a preheated 450 degree oven for 10-12 minutes, or until a deep golden brown. Makes about 6 cups.
OK, this is really clever–and they would be so good with French Onion soup, too!
Ooooh, beer croutons – what a great idea!!!
Thanks, ladies! They are yummy!
