Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease two 9-by-5-inch loaf pans; set aside.
For the bread, mix eggs, sugar, oil, almond and vanilla extracts, and poppy seeds in bowl of electric mixture until blended. In another bowl stir together flour, baking powder, and salt, and add this to egg mixture alternately with milk, beginning and ending with flour mixture until just blended. Pour mixture into prepared loaf pans. Bake for about 1 hour or until a skewer inserted in the middle comes out clean. Remove from oven and place on wire racks to cool slightly.
For Glaze: Combine all glaze ingredients in a small saucepan. Simmer and stir until sugar dissolves and melts in. While loaves are still warm, prick all over with a skewer and spoon or brush glaze evenly over each loaf. Let glazed loaves cool completely in pans before removing. Cut into slices to serve. Loaves will keep for several days wrapped in plastic or they can be frozen.
