The Pillsbury Bake-Off is back again for the 45th contest! The rules and information were just released. Who wants to be a millionaire? It could be you! For those of you who are not familiar with the Bake-Off, it is the Queen of all cooking contests, especially since the prize is One Million Dollars. I know many of my readers out there love to cook, but have you ever entered a contest before? Now is the time. Here is the link to follow to read the rules and see how to enter. The deadline to enter is April 18th of this year, but the contest will not take place until March of 2012. After entries pour in by April, the Pillsbury test kitchen keeps busy all summer testing and re-testing recipes, and will select the finalists sometime in the fall. Our family loves the Bake-Off contest, since three generations of us have been contestants. All I can tell you is that it is one of the most fun experiences you will ever have, even if you don’t win the money! To get you going, here is one of the many Pillsbury cookbooks available to read and and get some inspiration for your own recipe. You will most likely find dozens of Bake-Off books at your local library. So go check some out, kick up your feet, forget about the dishes and dive into some of their books and enter yourself!
