No cookbooks today. My heart is breaking a little. I am saying good-bye to Kara very early this morning as she leaves for her new job and life near Washington, DC, joined by her best friend and sister, Kristina. My girls have that special sister bond, for which I am truly grateful. They are driving across half the country and having fun along the way. I’m sure I will have pictures and adventure stories to post later!
The girls have traveled the world together, but have never embarked on a long road trip. They are looking forward to sharing the road before they live on opposite coasts. They have loved doing things together like…
Sharing dessert in Australia…
Flirting with the cute gondolier in Venice..
Enjoying the breath-taking view of the fjords in Norway..
And just having a Starbucks at the Space Needle in Seattle.
Oh, girls.. I am so proud of you both. Have a wonderful trip together, but don’t forget to call me from the car and when you arrive at your destinations along the way. I don’t care how old you are. I still have to know that you are safe and sound.
Kara, I know that you will not be able to contact us at times with your job, but Daddy, Kristina, and I will always be with you. Live your dream and be happy. The world is yours.
