I’m Going on Vacation!

Dear faithful Culinary Cellar readers,

I am going to San Francisco to visit my Mom for awhile, and need to give her all my attention, especially since we will be celebrating her 89th birthday!  My blogs will return on Wednesday, September 1st.  In the meantime, you can still leave me messages or emails (I would love that!), plus I will still give away some great cookbooks, which are at the end of this blog, but I won’t be able to mail them to the winners until I get back home.  I will miss you all, but I wanted to leave you with some of my favorite older blogs to read, starting with the first one ever, just in case you haven’t gone back far enough on my site to read them:

Here are my cookbook give-aways while I am gone.  Enter one or all of them!  Just remember to leave me your name and email address or I won’t be able to contact you.  You can enter at [email protected] or [email protected]  I will contact all the winners when I return on September 1st, so you have plenty of time to enter the drawings.  Just have all entries to me by midnight Monday, August 30th.  So here goes!

Give-Away # 1!  Since my mom lives near Napa, I thought what better book than this.  There are recipes in here from The French Laundry, Mustards Grill, Auberge de Soleil, and many more!  In addition, I will include a special gift that I will buy while in Napa!  There are a million fun items to buy in Napa, so I guarantee it will be something you will love!
Give-Away # 2!
This huge softcover almost didn’t fit on my scanner!  This lovely book has gorgeous photos of every delicious recipe including appetizers, soups, salads, pasta and rice, fried, grilled, pies, casseroles, and stews, from almost every kind of fish and shellfish.  A real beauty of a book!
Give-Away #3-  a triple give-away!
Now this one is fun!  Not only two charming little cookbooks, but an authentic, handmade 1950’s apron!  It’s made of sheer, light blue fabric with handkerchiefs stitched into the design.  If you are an apron collector, you will love this one!
I hope to hear from many of you over the next couple weeks, and I’ll be back soon with even more cookbooks.  I always find some when I go visit my mom, plus some great California recipes.
Congratulations to Shirley D. from Pennsylvania who won last week’s drawing of “The Barbecue Bible,”  and Caren H. from Virginia who won the Allergen cookbook.  “Anonymous” won the drawing for the meatless cookbook, so if you are reading this, whoever you are and remember entering under “Anonymous,” please email me and let me know who you are so I can mail you the book!  Also, I am still looking for “Julie” who won the Taste of Home cookbook, “Dinner on a Dime,” in the “guess-the-number of cookbooks in the shopping bags” game.  If you will write me, the mysterious Julie, I will send you the cookbook!
See you all back here on Wednesday, September 1st with lots of goodies!!  Until then, happy cooking!  And don’t forget you can still write to me!
