I want to say Happy Birthday to my oldest brother, Paul, today. Paul lives on an island in Tonga, far away in the Pacific. He emailed me the sweetest happy birthday note on my birthday last month, that you can read here, which will show you what a sweet guy he is! Paul was born when our father was in the Navy during World War II, and didn’t get to see his first born for many months. Paul is a very special dad, son, brother, and friend. You are well-loved, Paul. Happy Birthday from your favorite (only) sister!
Happy Birthday, Paul!!

Why I Started This Blog
I love cookbooks. I mean I really love them. I love to read them, treasure them, learn from them, and, of course, cook from them. To me, cookbooks take on a life all of their own. They are history, family, and memories. I have been collecting cookbooks and writing down treasured recipes of family, friends, and neighbors since about age twelve, which means I now own thousands of cookbooks, recipes, and clippings. Now I want to share them with you along with the many other culinary treasures of my cellar." - Debbie Vanni
