Saturday Recipe: My Favorite Garlic Bread

This is the garlic bread I have been making for decades!  It’s a real favorite in our house and I never tire of it.  If you don’t want to heat it in the oven, it can be heated up on the grill.


1 long loaf french bread
1/2 cup butter, room temperature
3 Tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon dried marjoram leaves
2 cloves garlic, minced or pressed
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

1.  Heat oven to 350 degrees.
2.  Slice french bread into diagonal pieces.  In a bowl, stir together remaining ingredients until blended.  Spread between slices of bread.
3.  Wrap the buttered loaf tightly in foil.  Bake for 15 minutes or until very hot.
