Saturday’s Recipe: Decadent Hot Fudge Sauce

Oh, my goodness, this is so rich and good served over ice cream.  I love the addition of the malted milk powder.  This is for all you chocoholics! 

Decadent Hot Fudge Sauce

2/3 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/4 cup malted milk powder
3/4 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup light corn syrup
2 Tablespoons butter
1 teaspoon vanilla

 Combine the sugar, cocoa powder, malted milk powder, whipping cream, and corn syrup in a heavy saucepan.  Stir over low heat until the sugar has dissolved.  Bring to a simmer, and cook, stirring constantly, for 4 minutes.  Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla.  Serve warm over ice cream.  The sauce can be prepared ahead and refrigerated, then reheated gently over low heat.
