You must hurry to find this publication from Betty Crocker. It is one of those special publications that many of the food companies display only for a certain time period. It is called “Cakes for all Occasions,” but also includes recipes for cookies and bars. It might be gone by the beginning of April, so look for it at your checkout stand with the magazines, or in the cooking publications area of bookstores.
Betty Crocker is known for their great photos and easy recipes. This one is no exception. If you don’t consider yourself an expert cake baker, you just might become one after reading this. The first few pages explain the secret for picture-perfect cakes, with tips for baking, correct pan sizes, storage, and frosting. Each recipe is carefully explained along with a photo of every recipe so you can view how it will look.
How do these sound? Root Beer Float Cake, Carrot-Mandarin Orange Cake, Banana-Ginger-Macadamia Cake, Caramel Cappuccino Cheesecake, or Molten Butterscotch Cakes. If you would prefer cookies or bars, how about my own Chip and Dip Cookies? Or My friend Janice’s, Lime-in-the-Coconut Frosted Cheesecake Bars? We both were the happy recipients of a runner-up prize in Betty Crocker’s annual “Mix-It-Up-With-Betty” cookie contest.
