Today is a happy day for us because it is our Kara’s birthday. We haven’t been able to see Kara and her family because of the ongoing health challenges of our country , but we FaceTime and talk every day. There will be a virtual birthday party where Bill and I will sing Happy Birthday, watch Kara blow out the candles, and her two girls, Virginia Rose and Helen, diving into the cake with laughter and chocolate faces.
This is Kara with Virginia Rose, who is now 3-1/2-years-old and big sister to 18-month-old Helen.
Here is a younger Helen who obviously loves her mommy! Her face still lights up when Kara walks in a room.
Here is Helen just the other day fascinated with her backyard, and wearing her little hat to keep out the hot Mississippi sunlight, but hopefully not finding those nasty fire ants!
A recent photo of the girls playing in their own little kitchen.
My favorite recent photo of the two happy sisters.
What some of you may not know, is that Kara was a Special Agent with the FBI for the past ten years. She recently retired because she wanted to be home full time with her girls, and… she is having another baby! Kara was so proud to serve her country and won many awards for her service. Kara was an excellent agent who will be missed by her team, but in the end, she just missed her girls. You can imagine the fascinating stories she has to tell, and there are many, but there are some even I will never know!
Here is Kara training at the FBI Academy in Quantico, Virginia, and that happens to be her future husband right in front of her! They met on the first day of reporting to training. They had both parked their cars and walked up to the huge building at the exact same time at the front entrance, and the rest is history. The first person she met turned out to be the love of her life and husband three years later. And they named their first daughter Virginia, because that was where they met. Makes a good love story, don’t you think?
Kara appeared on “America’s Most Wanted” when she was a New York City agent.
Kara had an exciting life being in the select group of female agents, but is now happy being a stay-at-home mom. We are so proud of her. She served her country well, and is a now a loving mommy who will raise strong girls like herself.
Happy Birthday, our sweet Kara! You are much-loved.
Kara will always be the best of the best whatever role she takes on….I loved seeing my little crochet project <3
I agree, Lisa, and your darling little hat is ready for the next baby!
