Mother’s Day

Mother’s Day can be a joyous time for children, young and old, to spend with their mothers.  For others, it can be a sad or difficult time as their mothers have passed away, or maybe are very ill and unable to communicate.  No matter the circumstances, mothers will be honored and remembered this weekend because mothers are special.  I will be traveling to California to see my mother and looking forward to spending a wonderful time with her.  Mom will be 96 years old this year and I know how lucky we are to still have her with us.  I have many friends who have lost their mothers, some recently, some a long time ago, and some who have mothers suffering from Alzheimer’s and they no longer know their own children.  I hope everyone will honor their mothers who have passed or are ill, and those of us who still have our mothers, enjoy every second of Mother’s Day with her.

My Mom (and Ozzy)

Mom and me a long time ago on Lake Superior.  I am so lucky to have her as my mom.

See you next week with photos from our Mother’s Day, probably with lots of good food and recipes for you!
