Tonight is the premiere of Hallmark Channel‘s latest Countdown to Christmas movie, Christmas Joy. It stars Daneille Panabaker (Joy) and Matt Long (Ben). Panabaker plays a market researcher in Washington, DC who is just about to receive a big promotion but is called back to her hometown of Crystal Falls to take care of her Aunt Ruby recovering from surgery. Who does she run into but her former crush, Ben.
It seems Aunt Ruby is the person responsible for running the town’s legendary Christmas celebration called the “Cookie Crawl.” Joy volunteers to take over Ruby’s place much to the amusement of Ben, who knows Joy has no idea of the undertaking of this event.
It seems the Cookie Crawl involves making hundreds of cookies including sugar cookies, brownies, shortbread, chocolate chip, thumbprints, and lemon bars. For the recipe this week I decided to revisit some of my old blogs that actually fit the bill for the Cookie Crawl! Here they are with links provided for the recipes.

That’s a start for a Cookie Crawl! Find out what happens with Joy and Ben at the baking competition. Do you think they will fall in love again or just eat cookies? Or maybe both? Find out tonight, Saturday November 3 at 8pm/7c!

They don’t look like they are thinking about cookies…

Thank you for this latest post!
In the 3rd episode of Holidazed
Hallmark movies they mentioned “Joy bars”
The ingredients look like … flour, eggs, baking powder, butter, vanilla, chocolate chips, dried coconut, walnuts or pecans, salt and a squirt of some kind of syrup?. It didn’t show amounts and I thought when the character who was recalling the recipe also said it had caramel in it.
Can you help me out with finding this recipe?
Linda, I wish I had the recipe too! Hallmark should write a cookbook on the foods shown so often on the shows. They have great food stylists because the foods always look beautiful. I watched a repeat of “Let it Snow” recently and the food was amazing! Think of all the recipes that could come from “The Cookie Jar!”
By looking at the recipe card, I was able to search for cookie recipes with similar ingredients. This is the closest I found: Sweet Chocolate Caramel Bars on allrecipes.com
